Comics chronicler Jon B. Cooke spent twelve years compiling his meticulously-researched Book of Weirdo, a history of the influential comics anthology, Weirdo (1981-1993). Founder and original editor R. Crumb will join the second editor, Peter Bagge (Hate, Woman Rebel), and the third and final editor, Aline Kominsky-Crumb joins Cooke for a discussion of both the anthology and his history of it, in a rare New York appearance. In addition, Weirdo contributor (and Book of Weirdo cover illustrator) Drew Friedman will join the panel.
Copies of The Book of Weirdo will be available for purchase, and all attendees will receive a free poster.
Registration will ABSOLUTELY be required, as seating is limited (registration will open on Wednesday 8/21/19). A reception will follow in the Rare Book & Manuscript Library.
