America/New_York
Pulitzer Hall, 2950 Broadway, New York, NY 10027 Brown Institute
Please join us on the evening of Tuesday, March 3rd from 6pm - 8pm as we host a film screening and panel discussion addressing the increasing harassment of women journalists, especially online. Featuring a screening of the film "A Dark Place", which was produced by the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, in cooperation with the International Press Institute (IPI), illustrates the first-hand experiences of women journalists who have been targeted by online harassment and violence. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Anya Schiffrin, Agnes Callamard, Sarah Guinee and others as they explore and reflect on their own personal experiences with online harassment and how this increasingly pervasive problem is affecting journalism worldwide. This event is presented by the Tow Center for Digital Journalism and Dart Center for Journalism and Trauma at Columbia Journalism School, with co-sponsorship from the Technology, Media and Communications program and Digital & Cyber Group at Columbia's School of International Public Affairs, the International Press Institute and Filmmaking for Policy Change.
